Frequently Asked Questions

About the Alumni Community

When you have a question or would like to share something with your peers in the alumni community, you can create a post. To do so, click the “Ask A Question” button in the navigation menu at the top of the screen. You will then be prompted to choose which group you’d like to post to (think about what theme your topic best fits into), add a subject, and then type away. Click “Post” when you’re done and your post will go live.

In order to reply to a post, navigate to the post you’d like to reply to and click the “reply” button to the top right of the copy in the post. You will then be shown a text entry space for you to type your reply. Once you’re done, click “Post” and your post will go live in that thread.

In order to get helpful, actionable answers, you’ll want to ask a clear, concise, and contextual question.

Make sure you include any relevant details in your post. Give the who, what, when, where, why, and how. What industry are you working in? What type of product are you building? What personas are you trying to reach? What’s your timeline?

Try to keep your questions clear and concise. If you have more than one question, clearly highlight each of them (bullets are great!) so people know what exactly you are looking to get from them. Subjects that summarize your general question or situation are helpful in getting the right people’s eyes on your questions.

Something like, “How do you validate product ideas before pulling in engineering?” or “AI tools for day-to-day Product Owner tasks?” clearly show the topic and question before someone even opens the post.

In the case you’d like to ask a question or add your thoughts anonymously, you can do so by clicking one checkbox near the text entry fields when you are typing your post. There is a checkbox on the bottom right of your post when editing that you will see, called “Post Anonymously”, near the Post, Save as Draft, and Schedule buttons.

When you post with that box checked, your post will be shown to be created by an Anonymous User and your profile will not be attached to that post.

When you’re looking for a resource on a particular topic (think: course document, eBook, peer examples, podcast, etc.), the Resource page on the top navigation bar is the place to start. That landing page will give you four options to find what you’re looking for:

  1. Framework – Click into the Framework page to find resources curated by Pragmatic Framework box.

  1. Courses – Click into the Courses page to find all of the tools & templates, supplemental documents, and any additional resources by Pragmatic course or workshop.

  2. Topical – Click into the Topical page to find resources curated by popular topics in the community. Each box will bring you to a curated search feed of Pragmatic resources based on these specific topics.

If these options don’t find what you need, we encourage you to use the Search function and utilize the filters on the left sidebar to surface and segment content to best find what you are looking for.

Finally, if you still can’t find something, feel free to post a new question. Your question could help us create that resource for the future!

To get an answer to a question or find discussions on a specific topic, you can explore the open cohort groups from the top navigation bar: Peer Insights > My Groups or Discover New Groups. Here, you can see where conversations may be taking place that would cover the topic you’re looking to get answers or insights on. If you have a specific question you want to ask, you can post it in one of these groups to get more specific insight on that topic.

If you have more of a general question, or you’d like to get information on topics that might blur into more than one of these categories (or doesn’t fit into any of them at all), then posting in and/or exploring the PAC Main Room would be your best bet. All members are a part of this cohort group, and no topic is too big or too small to discuss.

Whether you’re looking for information on open roles posted by fellow Pragmatic-certified peers, or you’re looking to share an open role to those same peers, the Career Development cohort group is where you’ll look. In that group, you’ll see both the Job Board for any open job postings for that year, and the Job Candidates space for people to share their resumes if they’re looking for work.

All alumni community events can be found on the Events page, by clicking the Events button on the top navigation bar. Here you can RSVP for an event or click the individual event’s name to read more about it before RSVPing. On the individual event page, you’ll find a description of the event and any other relevant information. You can also RSVP to the event by clicking the RSVP under the event image on the individual event page.

Clicking RSVP on either page will prompt a confirmation email to be sent which should include a calendar invitation as well.

You only have access to course materials for the courses and workshops you have completed. If you’re unable to access materials for a course you’ve finished, try the following:

1. Confirm your account email: Ensure your Pragmatic Community account is associated with the same email address used when enrolling in training.

2. Check for multiple accounts: If you’ve used different emails for training in the past, your course history may be split across accounts.

3. Still need help? If you still lack access or need to merge multiple training accounts into one history, please contact our support team at community@pragmaticinstiute.com or via chat.

  • You can take the courses in any order, but Foundations is required before moving on to advanced courses.

All Pragmatic certifications and course completion badges are issued through Credly, our third-party certification and credentialing platform. Here’s how to access and share them:

If you don’t see your certification, check that you’re using the correct email address or contact certifications@pragmaticinstitute.com for assistance.

Implementing Pragmatic Learning

If you’re looking for where to start in terms of implementation once you finish training, use the following as initial guidance:

  1. Explore the course tools for your course/workshop (pro tip: the Action Guides at the top of each course page are great mini refreshers and guides for where to start)

  1. Add a discussion or question to the Implementing Pragmatic cohort group

  1. Read into what peers did after their own training and translate into your specific situation

If you want to dig in further into implementation, this resource bundle is a helpful place to start.

All of the tools and templates for the courses and workshops you attend will live on the Course Tools page in the Alumni Community. There you will see all of the resources for the courses you have access to. If you believe you should have access to resources that you currently don’t, reach out to community@pragmaticinstitute.com and we can troubleshoot.

Pragmatic instructors participate in the alumni community, so if you’re looking for guidance, you can ask a question or a post a discussion topic and we can make sure they see it. You can also choose to participate in some specific instructor-led programming in the Implementing Pragmatic cohort group and the associated Implementation Work Labs.

The Work Labs are a series of calls where an instructor will take you through an aspect of training so you can get hands-on practice and a deeper understanding of a facet of the Foundations course.

The community is full of peer examples, so you’re already in the right place. If you want evergreen examples curated over time, you can use the show & tell thread repository here. If you’re looking for more active workshopping, you can attend a Peer Exchange event (check out the schedule of events here). If neither of those cover what you’re looking for, you can start your own discussion and ask for peer examples here.

If you’re interested in leading an event (ex: a webinar, a peer exchange, etc.), you can read out to the community team at community@pragmaticinstitute.com, or directly message Eddie Gordon here in the community to get something together.

To find peers in the alumni community, you can use the directory under Peer Insights > Directory on the top navigation bar. The directory enables you to filter members in the community by location, roles, industries, and other demographics. By clicking different options under each filter category, the directory will produce a list of members who qualify so you can connect or view their contributions.

Once you’ve logged into the alumni community, these are three quick steps you can take to get acclimated and start finding value in the community space:

1. Fill out your profile and upload a profile photo – Completing your profile better helps us connect you to resources that are more relevant and also helps get visibility into your work for others in the community.

2. Introduce yourself – Introducing yourself in the monthly introduction thread also helps get more visibility in your work, allowing both the community team and other members of the community to see where we overlap and how we can support one another. You can find the monthly introduction thread in your Quick Links on the left side of the home page just below your profile photo.

3. Explore Course Tools – The course tools page is home to all of the tools and templates for all of Pragmatic’s courses and workshops and you have access to all of the resources for the courses you’ve attended.

The Pragmatic Alumni Community and the Student Portal serve different purposes, but both are valuable resources for Pragmatic learners.

  • A private online space for Pragmatic alumni to connect, collaborate, and continue learning after completing a course.

  • Includes access to course materials, exclusive discussions, events, and networking opportunities with other professionals.

  • Best for ongoing professional development, peer networking, and accessing updated frameworks.

  • The platform where you access and attend Pragmatic courses (live or on-demand).

  • Used for registering for courses, managing enrollments, and taking course exams to earn certifications.

  • Best for active learners currently taking courses or reviewing exam requirements.
